Top Award Recognizes ‘Garden in the City,’ a Landmark Luxury Residential Development in Taiwan

This high-density development stands apart for the open spaces connecting five towers. A ‘landscape first’ approach repositions the grounds from a supportive amenity to a central, guiding force in the shaping of urban residential life.

Once an industrial site in a rapidly urbanizing district of Taiwan, the redeveloped brownfield site occupies a full city block as a high-density residential enclave.

Five 20-story towers and an amenity building surround a verdant, estate-like central landscape.

The 5.2-acre landscape is built entirely on structure—its podium reinforced to support six-story tall trees that redefine what’s possible in luxury urban living.

At ground level, water features reflect sky and light at the threshold of each building. Towering trees screen the surrounding buildings, framing the view and anchoring the space in nature, as if the landscape preceded architecture.

Water, planting, and tree canopy are layered in compositions that are intentionally sculptural, shaping the overall experience in the gardens.
